wing mounted servo ?
 

First thanks to all who answer my questions... im sure my plane will be a much better build because of all of you and the forum.

Im mounting a servo in the wing of my Eagle 2 trainer wing. It is a wooden servo frame. The question is .... Since servos use a rubber gromet ( I suspect to reduce vibrations to the servo ) should the fit of the servo into the servo tray be loose or tight. Should the fit be loose as to lower vibration to the servo?

When mounting the servos you should first put the rubber grommets on the servo mounts. Then the metal collars need to be inserted in the BOTTOM of the grommets. Then when you tighten your screws to mount the servo it should just touch the top of the rubber grommet. If you push down the rubber with the screw then you have tightened it too tight. When it is too tight vibrations are no longer isolated and transferred directly to the servo, which is not good for the servo.

I understod the question a little different than Ken. If you asking if the servo case should touch the wood opening. It should not. Only the mounting lugs should sit on the wood. I don't think it's a big deal on the Aile but you should learn to do it right from the start.

Correct in both cases.

Joey, keep the servo case from touching the mount, and install as Ken suggested
