jr rx and futaba tx compatability

My wife and I went to the LHS yesterday as I needed to get some standard servos and a new receiver. after looking around I found it was cheaper just to buy a flight pack. I have always used Futaba products and know that futaba and JR are not compatible because of the positive and negative shift. But I ended up walking out with a JR flight pack as it seems that jr receivers will work on both positive and negative shift. when did JR start doing this to there receivers??? The receiver I purchased was an R6000. I take my hat off to JR

Do you mean the RS600? I couldn't find the one you mentioned.

it does state that its shift selectable. is there a switch on the rx to do this or is it automatic?

Here is the manual:

You have to remove the PC board from the case and move a jumper. Not real convenient but real bad either. I would have to examine the connector in question to determine how well it retains the jumper before I decide how well I like it. Would hate to have it fall out. [:@] But I'm sure JR thought of that too.

Yes it is the RS600 that I got. I have not yet opened it up to have a look at it yet but it seems like a good receiver. I am happy that Jr have finally made a system that can be used with any transmitter.

I didn't hear any comments about the GWS receivers and flight packs.

Anybody care to comment? I have never tried one, I fly Airtronics and stick to Airtronics RX's and servo's... except for one application that is when I opted for Hitec micro's.

I've got some GWS servos in a few of my smaller planes. So far they are working great. I've also got a GWS receiver in my Slow Stick. No problems so far, but I'm not quite ready to trust any of my other planes to GWS receivers. I've had great results with Hitec Electron 6 receivers, which are available in either shift. I'm also taking a serious look at buying some receivers from Polks. Their 6 channel receiver uses synthesized frequency and shift select. No need to move jumpers or change crystals, just push a button and the receiver figures out what language (JR or Futaba) the transmitter is speaking. ;)
