trainer plane
 

Hi guys.. ive got myself a heli, but i want to get a plane too now (as you do lol)

ive got 2 choices..

an irvine tutor 40 with os 40/46.. this was my original plan.

but, my flying school had a flair/ats kite with a 4 stroke engine for sale..

which should i go for? do the 4 strokes produce enough power?

im guessing the kite is good, as the school have used it, and it sound spretty indestructable..

any opinions? this is in the uk, so i dont know if any of you will have heard of these palnes in the usa

It appears to be a suitable trainer. You failed to give any info on the 4-stroke so it is hard to say much about it either. It may well be suitable if not worn out. Have the club/owner give you a lesson on the plane and then make a decision. I also have not looked up the other plane yet, will attempt to next.

thats the problem. i dont know what engine is on it..

its also the thing im worried about, as is was used as their trainer, could the engine be too far gone?

but... its pretty much rtf, and i dont really want to build an aeroplane..

i guess i will have to see...

otherwise, ill call him tomorrow, and find out..

im guessing its an os, though i could be wrong

The OS engine is also very good if in good condition (which model/size also matters a little 40/46 a bit vague too). Either plane, depending upon condition, should be a fine trainer for you. Consider which plane you like best and has the better price. Do these include radios? The OS may be easier to tune and maintain. Again, not much info to go by.

i was more looking for opinions on the planes, so i didnt put much about the engines...

as for th os engines, the blue os 40/46 la on the irvine, and both the plane and engine would be new..

the kite and 4 stroke is used, but i dont know what engine is on there, so cant say about that...

the tutor i would buy new myself with servos, battery pack, rx etc (have jr pcm 9x)

the kite comes with all that, again bar the radio as i have one.

they are both around the £200 mark too..

i know guessing aint good, but as i said i dont know about the 4 stroke yet [&o]
