Old is the individual not just the number of years in the past. I started modeling in 1934 and I'm still at it at close to 82. Good enough to have people want me to build airplanes for them. I don't have any idea about the next few years but hope to keep right on until they pat me in the face with a spade. I'm always sorry when I hear that someone is just too old to build any more. The days of the ARF are here and may solve some of the problems. Usually eyesight is a problem when it comes to flying. One of our better pilots is now at the stage where he can't see well enough any more. He's younger than I am, not much, but them I'm hoping to become an intermediate pilot some day. For RCOutlaw - if you finish the job for him you will have all my best wishes.

Ballgunner, my hat is off to you sir. [sm=thumbup.gif] I'm no spring chicken, but you considerably out-do me. I still love to fly very scary models, but it seems that there are more scary models every year. I sincerely hope to hang in there as long as you are doing.

If your job was as your "handle" suggests, thanks as well.

P.S. The epithet "Too Old" really pi$$es me off. So does the though of being too old to keep doing this -- with any luck, I'm gonna bite it with transmitter in hand.

RC Outlaw -- thanks to you. I wish that there were more young-uns like you.

My dad will be 88 next month,,back in 1963 I think it was, he and my brother got 2 full circles on a cox .049 trainer before it crashed, and that was the full extent of his interest in the hobby...Rog

If age gets to be a problem for me I hope I will still be able to build. Of the two, flying/building, loosing my ability to build a model will be the more sorly missed thing I like to do!
