Twist Hardware

Evening all, I was putting together my Twist last night and as I'm getting ready to install my control rods, I notice that all the rods supplied with the plane are too short. Has anyone else ran into this? Talk about frustrating, about ready to start putting the finishing touches on the plane, and I can't ever start with the radio install because the control rods are too short.

brocja01,
How much too short are the control rods??? 1"-2"?? Possible to take a picture?? Is it possible you can turn the servos around and eliminate the problem?

I had the same problem with my 3 twists. The rods they supply are to short, it is discussed in the twist 3d forum. I know how frustrating it is. By now Hanger 9 should be providing rods that are about 2 inches longer. Good luck with your build.

Ken,
I did flip the servos the other way to get them closer to the control surfaces, but it looks like all the rods are about 2 inches to short. I'll probably just go and purchase a new set of rods for my LHS. It was just a little frustrating, you know how you get when you are making good time and you run into a snag that there is nothing you can do because the LHS is closed and it is 10:30 at night. :)

I don't think the manual states what size the control rods are for the Twist, do you think 2-56 will be large enough for the twist?

Do your short rods look like 2-56? Or a metric equiv if kitted overseas. They will be either 2-56 or 4-40 and the difference will be obvious. Take a rod to the LHS for comparison and make sure any clevis's and other fittings are the correct size too.

brocja01, a lot of Twist owners are going with 4-40. Here is a shot of my set-up:

I just built my twist and ran into the same problem. I had to take parts from other damages aircraft to finish the build.
