Here's my free advice. Sounds like you're interested in electric slowflyers/parkflyers their is a forum here on RCU dedicated to that also ezonemag.com is dedicated entirely to electric flight. As to what model you should get I'd do some research first. Several things need to be answered first. 1 Will you be learning alone or with an instructor? 2 do you have a place that you are allowed to fly? (the bigger the better) 3 do you perfer kits or would you like the plane assembled? There is no simple formula for chosing a first model and everyone here will have an opinion of what is right for you... If you can I highly recomend visiting your local hobby shop and getting hooked up with a club. They can make this process much more enjoyable My recommendation for a park flyer would be a GWS Tigermoth it flys slow is easy to assemble and repair. Others have their favorites. |

If you want a decent combo deal and fast to get in the air plane with darn near everything you need check into the Hangar 9 Extra Easy. Believe for 320 bucks minus some fuel aand a few extras you willb e in the air fast...also check into obtaining your AMA membership, I just renewed mine for 2003-2004 the two year plan for 113 bucks. Look for a local flying club near you. There are lists of clubs on the ama website. I am new to the Hobby/Sport myself, I have only got to taxi as of yet..LOL...BUT soon hoping i can finally get some instructed flights.....But a guy that started before me did the extra easy thing and had no complaints....I did the buy everything seperate route and spent about 190 bucks more..give or take...Good Luck to ya..and welcome fellow Beginner... Lots of good guys with good advice here..so always feel free to ask...I have spent HOURS reading these forums...lots of good info.

Sky scooter pro 2, great e plane you would probably like. comes almost ready to fly with everything you need, just toss the battery charger (worthless) and get a new one with a couple of 1600 mah nimh batteries. (radio shack 9.6's work well)
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXCTE7&P=7 If you do teach yourself, it is fairly easy on this plane, if (oops, i mean WHEN) you crash, just epoxy it back together, and eventually replace the fuselage if needed ($20) |
