The orginall one that they give with their arf broke on me so i bought 2 new ones from tower. They are hays .30-.50 engine mounts. its not th enew engine mount do not fit my engine but the firewall holes do not match up. RE: four star 40 engine mount problem
For centering, you can get fairly close if you center your new mount in accordance with the already drilled holes. If you have to drill new ones, do it. I drilled new ones on my Sig Kougar and it doesn't seem to have affected anything. Also, some arfs and other kits give you measly wood screws to mount engine and even the mount itself. I use a screw and nut and lockwashers on both ends.
Same with mounting engine to mount. I use lockwashers on both sides and I also use a nylon nuts. Keeps your engine tight to the mount and there is less tendency to vibrate the nuts loose. Dave... |

Order new mounts from Sig. They're cheap, and the firewall holes will line up for you. Redrill the engine holes, and you got it. Glen

RE: four star 40 engine mount problem
There may be alignment marks on the firewall (vertical and horizontal). Most engine mounts also have alignment marks. align the 2 together and drill holes. If no marks on firewall check the orig mount and see if it has marks that you can carry over onto the firewall.
