First Solo: Sucess!!!

I've been flying for about 4 months now probably a total of 25 flights with buddy system. But last friday i decided to land. and it was a major suceess. Yesterday (monday) i went out feeling confident and i landed about 6 times including some touch and gos. It felt great. Undescribably.
How many had a sucess? How many didnt?

Congrats! It feels good to finally solo doesn't it? I've been flying on my own for about a year now, and I still clearly remember soloing. :D

Have fun!

Did your instructor cut you loose yet??

Congrats!! BTW Feels good, I remember mine. My instructor just pulled the cord and handed me the TX...walked away. A couple of days later I had solo'd for a total of 3 instructors and was signed off.

That was 5 months and thousands of dollars ago.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

The feeling is GREAT. I have dreams about it. I wake up thinking about it, and during school. NOw i see it differently. i just want to fly now, and practice more landings. I too have that same thing that when i pass by open patches i say" i can land there" or "man thats a nice place to land".lol

LOL... I have done HUNDREDS and HUNDREDS of touch-and-go's because I was told that landings were the most important thing to learn to do well. (That makes sense because it's the only time you purposely meet the plane with the Earth).

Do as many touch-and-go's as you can and you will be able to land from anywhere right down the runway. Practice dead-sticks and downwind, (not actually IN a down-wind condition), landings. Practice inside and outside loops, hammerheads etc... Spend as much time as you can inverted. It really gets you familiar with the controls in a hurry.

Again, Congrats!!

Congrats on your success, it is a great feeling to know you can finally do it! According to my wife I still talk about flying in my sleep, and as I am presently up for a job within my company that would require us re-locating to Portland, Or. she has been looking at houses for sale in the surrounding area just in case I am the one they choose to offer the position to. I told her don't even bother to look at anything on less than 5 acres, I need room to build my runway!:D

Great feeling ^_^ I was lucky enough to have both (landing and soloing for the first time) on the same day. Also, that was the first time I flew! I guess I caught on pretty quick but I'm still no expert and I've only been flying for about two months in total. However, I'm not the greatest with landings yet. I recently had a pretty rough one that lead to rebuilding the landing gear mount on my Nexstar. But congrats! Its a great feeling!
