I bought a RTF B29 bomber..
 

It flew for about 20 seconds till i tried to turn... and it hooked around and decimated itself into the ground..



SO now that i got over the OMG.. Ive got a pretty beaten up 4 prop bomber plane im trying to repair..


Not counting on it working right again...


SO Being a first timer..

What would you recomend aside from the 2 channel planes with 2 motors that have Power.. left and right..


I would like to try somthing a little bit intermediate.. I dont really want to be babied along.. but i dont want a plane i cant control for the life of me. Aka somthing wicked advanced

yeah, i dont mean to be a pickle, but so far you went far too intermediate. What rcuniverse.com will always recommend is a four channel glow trainer. You need to be, "babied" along the way to learn how to fly soemthing like your b29 bomber. DO you have an rc club you can go to to learn how to fly? If you dont, thats ok, you just need to get one of the REALLY basic traineers and simulators, and be prepared to waste alot of cash until you decide to join a club and save a couple hundred. I dont really understand when you say:" but i dont want a plan i cant control for the life of me. " you probably mean plane right? Anyway, for that, you really need a glow trainer like this:

THis is a ready to fly plane meaning you can fly it out of the box. You live in NY and NY state has a load of clubs, personnally, i fly in staten isaldn so if you live in the area, pm me and i can give you the info. Ther are club fees but it includes instruction.

Well the bomber was a 4 prop electric.. with 2 channels.. Engine power.. and Left/right with more power on 1 side.


Im basicly looking for a plan with more then up down left right.. as those to me seem harder to fly comming from an expeerienced Heli simulator pilot.



I was thinking somthing with Rudders and all that jazz to let me be a little bit more at home with my flying.

Unfortunatly i havnt found a RC club in my area Newburgh NY and am basicly tryign to teach myself the hobby. I did however buy an Aero ace from Airhog.. little mini plane that is a blast tooting around the backyard lol.


Anyways. thanks for the advice. dont think im ready for a Glow plane yet as im reading into the hobby it seems those require a special field "Flight area" and are alot more fast and expensive.

We've had a few of these at our field. they'er a toy and wouldn't consider flying one flight experience. they are basically a guided glider. As mention before if your serious about learning to fly. Join a local flying club and join the ama.

also you can google search for local hobby shop they should have connection to the local flying clubs and were the fields are and when/were club meetings are held

Since you obviously couldn't handle a simple model you do need to be babies along even though the right route isn't being babied. They is nothing wrong with getting help from an instructor to teach you to fly. Fact is you'd be stupid not to get help

Yeah.. I kinda figure after the first few attempts at flying it after repairing.. it really wasnt meant for much Flight control.. and kinda like oh somthing you goof around with but not really "Flight" stuff.


I was looking at many other Electric Planes that i could play around with At my local park. I really like the Mini's like i said i bought a Aero ace airhog.. and its a little foamy thing with 2 baby props and just kinda cruises around a bit hehe.

After posting i went and did find that club 12 miles away. and have sent an email asking for more information field location that kinda thing. Hopefully ill get a chance to speak with some other hobiest and see if an electric trainer plane is better then a Glow.

now granted i would like to fly at my local park once i get better. im under the impression gas or glow planes can only be flown at airfield because they are much more dangerous? or somthing along those lines.


anyways. thanks for the info . definatly looking at getting more heavily into the Hobby aside from the Cheapy toy type planes

Well, if you have a club only 12 miles away, you are REALLY lucky. If i was you, i would go ahead with a glow trainer, they are very good, and probably cheaper. Those 4 blade plastic prop b29s are cheap, but once you find out what !QUOT!brushless!QUOT! means and how much it costs, you'll consider glow. Im not saying one is better than the other, i like them both, but for training i think you should get the plane i posted up before. By the way, its been mentioned already, but join the AMA. Consider it like an insurance for you, which is what it is.

After reading up on it. Im definatly going to check this Club out and Try and Go to the field and just watch them for a while. and If i get hooked instantly like i forsee considering how much I enjoyed the bomber in all its 20 seconds of glory lol.. Ill definatly be getting a trainer to assist me.

Seems im luck i only wasted 50 bucks on a Toy plane instead of getting a few hundred dollar one and killing it first flight lol.

Well, since you don't want to be "babied" along, that leaves out any initiative to learn to fly the right way. So your options are to keep bringing those planes home in garbage bags or quit. Be cheaper:eek:

WE might be dealing with a younger enthusiast who doesnt know how instruction works. In real-life, you really arent babied along, your instructor takes off, then switces the controls to your tx via a buddy link system and you fly. You are never babied along, if your instruction feels the way you progress is fast our slow, he will teach you according to your capabilities. No need to snap back at him, Cyclic.

Dorsil, people on this thread would never recommend something wicked advanced, just a four channel standard trainer is all you need, preferably glow.
