Radios

Sorry if this is a stupid question but i've been wondering about it. Let's say I have a plane that flies straight and level with trims in neutral. If for some reason i change transmitters, but remain on same freq, and the trims are also centered and neutral will the plane still fly straight and level? This old gray head has been pondering this but didn't want to ask a a member of our club and appear senile.

Thanks

Actually, the trims can be a bit different from radio to radio but usually not vastly different. You will probably need a new trim flight with a new radio.

Theoretically it should work. But in practice they will usually be a bit off between the radios.

They will alomost always be somewhat off. You can test this by using a buddy box. Even if the transmitters are the same model, the trims will not be the same when both produce straight and level flight.

Also, most trainers require trim change when a throttle change is made, so you must try for same throttle setting.

Oh, well.
