Hey to you.

My best advice - leave this forum immediately and never return; forget about flying wooden airplanes remotely with a "box".

Trust me, it'll save you tons of money.......

OK, welcome to the "addiction". Its the most fun you can legally have. Hang around here, learn tons of stuff, get a plane, get an instructor and learn to fly. Life will never be quite the same.

ROTFLMAO

Take-up GOLF before it's too late. Your wife, employer, pocket-book, doctor, friends and psychologist will thank you.

Soon you will utter this EXACT phrase....."I really need a trailer".

Welcome to the end of free-time and disposable-income as you know them.

Welcome to RCU and the hobby. These forums are full of good thoughts and ideas, however if you have any questions, just post them and sit back and wait. Just a word of advice, don't ask the million dollar question, which is better radio, Futaba or JR!!! Good Luck, Dave

Hey Jester,

I'm a beginner too and lost my WM EP Cub yesterday after five non troubled flights. Despite my disappointment and inexperience I am hooked on this fabulous hobby.

Enjoy!!

Now what should I buy next............................................??

Hey Jester! Why not phone local hobby shops that sell RC planes and ask them for phone numbers of nearby RC clubs. Then see if you can arrange to meet someone out there on the weekend. You will learn more in one trip to the field than in 3 months of reading about the hobby. IF someone knows you are coming out they may even bring a trainer plane that you can try (while on a buddy box of course). :D

No joke, I was telling my Dad this very same thing on the phone last night. But...Just a trailer? I need a new house with a big basement for a workshop...that opens to a seperate driveway...where I can park the trailer :D

Until then I have to figure out where to park a 35%

Nearly all of the modern equipment is good. "Which is Better" often comes down to subjective opinions.

I think people just starting out should avoid buying used equipment unless they know and trust the seller; or they can get hands on advice from an experienced person they do trust. Definitely stay away from the "world's largest and most popular online auction site" (ebay) until you know enough to separate the junk from the good, and know what the items really should be worth. You don't want to bid 10 bucks for a 9 buck item.

well, Hi.

Someone gave me this link when I first started out. Finding a local club has been really helpful.

RE: New Guy

I should have thought of the club locator
http://www.ama-dist-8.org/Clubs/Locator.php
This one just needs a zip code or City/State

There are clubs listed as within 10 miles of Clive, Iowa
