3 or 4 blades for training
 

Just wondering if anyone else uses 3 or 4 bade props for trainers
I love the way they tame the beast it really slows them down for final and they pull slower for a new flyer
2 things that can really improve their success in flying

I've never seen a 4-blade prop for RC, but a guy in our club flies a .40-sized trainer with a 3-blade. Other than it looks kind of small and funky, it doesn't seem to make much difference.

I just don't use em. Stick to 2 blades. They are more efficient. Get the engine to idle right to slow it down

apc make lots of 3 and 4 blade others do too I'm sure
I think they look tough with just a spinner nut
and they sure do make a huge difference slowing down a plane

they may slow down the plane better, but they don't make that big of a difference. On planes our size the 3 and 4 blade props are actually less efficient than a 2 bladed prop. And in the 6 years that I've been teaching students I haven't seen a student yet that hasn't messed up at least one prop when they start learning to land. 2 bladed props are cheaper to replace than 3 or 4 bladed props.

yes they are ineffiecient at the speeds our engines turn not true for full scale planes of course
All I was trying to say was they do slow the plane down and that help people feel more relaxed while their learning
I had been away from the hobby awhile and choose a H9 arrow it had the 3 blade once I got my self back into flying again I switch over to a 10x6 apc and it really speeded things up

Wow, those 4-blade props ARE funky-looking. I guess on the right plane, though, at least for static display.

Yeah, I'd rather see a wider paddle blade like used on WWII fighters.
