Book Recommendations
 

I am completely new to R/C airplanes, but after trolling this site for a few days I have decided it is something that I must do.

I understand that I need to get a trainer airplane and seek out a local club for lessons. In the meantime, I am looking for book recommendations that will teach me some lingo and give me a better idea of what to expect from this hobby? Remember, I don't know the difference between an Aileron and an Elevator, so the more basic the books, the better.

The English wizard of design etc = David Boddington all his books are good value even if a little dated.
USA = "Radio Control Miniature Aircraft" by Robert Lopshire = covers all aspects including building your own field box and power panel (FWIW mine still works well after 15+ years)
UK again = "Radio Control Guide" by Norman Butcher - every thing you needed to know about how to install RC systems and linkages to achieve all mechanical set ups etc..inc motors ab\nf learning to fly. see also =

Start buying the Higleys books which are advertised in the magazines. First, buy "Getting Airborne, vols. 1 and 2 or "All About ARFs". Then add other titles as your interests dictate. If you don't have these bibles on your shelf you will make a lot of mistakes.
