Another Solo
Well I got my wings tonight and it sure feels good. Did it in under 1 gallon of fuel and many hours on the sim. Met the instructor at the field and we got everything on the plane checked out. He took it up for a trim check and brought it back down. We hooked up the buddy box and off we went. He never took his finger off the trainer switch. 5 good take offs and landings ( one of the requirements by our club ) and he said we don't need this cord no more. We fueled her up, checked the batteries, fired her up and he handed me MY transmitter. I have never flown with MY transmitter before! What a pleasure to be a pilot. 3 more flights with lots of touch and go's and some rolls and loops and great turns. Then on the 4th solo flight she went deadstick ( second time tonite ) and I wasn't in a good position. Brought her around but had a ruff landing with just minor damage to the landing gear. Well that didn't wipe the silly grin off my face. Looks like about a 2 hour repair and we will be back up in the air later in the week. This is WAY TOO MUCH FUN. I want to thank my club and instructors for all their time and patience and I hope to someday be able to repay the hobby by teaching others to fly or at least helping in any way I can. I have met some wonderful people in the last few months and look forward to many new friendships in the coming years. OUCH, I have been bitten by a great hobby!

RE: Another Solo
I remember when my instructor gave me my trasmitter. Boy is it a nice feeling! In fact, i even had to use some leg muscle to keep my knees from shaking! Even now, i tend to nudge a bit everytime i land because i never know when there might be a gust of wind to take my only plane away from me like it did my Easy Sport :(.
Congrats! Samolot PS: What sim did you use? |
