Is this a bad servo?
I was setting the control throws on my Cap arf when I noticed that the elevator acts funny: I have it in neutral, pull stick to take it up and then when I let the stick go to return to neutral, elevator ends about 3/4 of an inch from neutral. Only way to return to the neutral point is push the stick to go down then when I let stick go all is ok, elevator goes to the right point. Is this a servo problem? All the linkages are good and not bending. Thanks!

RE: Is this a bad servo?
I had a similar problem, but mine was a slipping linkage. If you are sure none of the linkages are bending or slipping then try re-adjusting the servo arm by taking off the screw and re setting it. If this doesn't work then I would diffinatly say it is a bad servo. I am no expert, but this is just what I think! :D

RE: Is this a bad servo?
G'day Mate,
Disconnect the pushrod from the servo, & try moving it by hand, if it is hard to move then it is your pushrods binding on something, if it moves freely then turn your radio on & move the stick & see if the servo arm returns to neutral, if it does'nt then the servo is the problem. |
RE: Is this a bad servo?
Disconnect the push rod from the servo and see if the servo performs properly with no load on it. If it does, you have a problem in the linkage, not the servo.

RE: Is this a bad servo?
You could just observe the servo output arm and see if it returns to neutral each time or not. If the arm returns OK, then look for a problem elsewhere. Heck, it could even be in the transmitter though not likely.
