I'm flying helicopters currently but I want to also get into airplanes as well. I like SPEED, A LOT OF SPEED, so I want to get one of those airplane that can go 200mph. Which ARF model can do that? Also, if I were to build a kit, which kit is a speed demon. Do you need multiple engines to get that speed? Or am I talking about a jet? Totally confused...need help. Thanks

Nope Flying fixed wing RC is no more going to prepare you to fly Rotors than flying Rotors is going to prepare you to operate a fixed wing at 200 MPH. Its a whole differant ball park! John |

The only thing that'll go 200mph is a full on pylon racer...go watch one of them sometime and see if you could handle it...you won't!
As with anything, you have to start out slow (in this case, literally!!) and work your way up to new levels of proficiency or you'll be a danger to yourself and to others. This is just advice, I'm not knocking your aim for speed...just go into it gradually. But when you get proficient enough be prepared to spend lots of money on an engine because it needs mega HP to go that fast...you won't do it with an OS!! |

There is an ARF that will do it WHEN YOU'RE READY FOR IT!! See www.westonuk.co.uk its called the Magnum. The motor recommended for it is a West (Modified Webra) 50v1. It will just about do 200mph, but you'll have to see if they'll ship it to the States. They are fearsomely fast!

I agree with all the rest of the posters. Also there is a whole group here on RCU dedicated to speed planes.
