first plane
 

ive been into rc cars for about 2 years and i want to get into planes. They look really fun. My uncle made one and flew in and it was really cool. i really dont no anything about planes. im clueless. A link to a website would be great. What are the classifications.

You have alot of narrowing down to do. Do you want nitro or electric, small or large, do you want to build it or do you want an ARF. Answer these and probably more questions and it would help in chosing a plane that is right for you;)

You are probably on the best web site for getting info and help with questions right now! To save you a lot of time and effort, I would suggest you phone some local hobby shops that sell RC airplanes and ask them how to get hold of the nearby RC clubs. Then get out there and visit them. Rc flyers are known to be friendly and helpful. They may even hae a club trainer that you try for a flight or 2 to see if your really interested. Then see what the local flyers suggest. :D

As theradioflyer said. more info would help us help you. As Fastky said, finding the local club & talking with them is allways a good idea. You can go to the AMA website & use their club locator feature to find the closest club to your home. Other than that we have a pretty standard reccomendation here for new people looking to get in to RC planes. That would be Join the AMA. It will give you liability insurance while following AMA safety guidelines when you fly. Get a qualified club instructor to teach you how to fly properly & safely. The type of plane we commonly use to learn on is a Glow powered high-wing Trainer. Usually what is called a .40 - .46 size, or a .60 size Trainer. These things can be quite dangerous in the wrong hands so it is important to get an Instructor. Not only will he/she keep your plane in one piece for you while you're learning to fly, but they will also teach you how to operate it safely.
