Can I use Saito 65 in LT-40???
Hello,
Can I use Saito 65 in LT-40?? Currently I have OS 46AX but I would like to switch to 4 stroke because I am using 4 stroke in my next plane. I do not want to carry two different type of fuels. Thanks. |
RE: Can I use Saito 65 in LT-40???
sure, i think it would fly fine....
the 65 would have slightly less power... but that is not a concern with the LT-40 as for fuel... why do you need different types??? You do not need different types for each motor.. pick a good quality fuel and go fly I use Powermaster 20/20 in everything and it works perfectly, but there are many others.... just grab your favorite 10 or 15% and go fly |

Thanks for your reply.
I thought 2-stroke & 4-stroke fuels are of different type. Are you saying I can use same fuel for 2-stroke as well as 4-stroke??? If that is true then I would love to keep OS 46AX in LT-40. It is one very reliable engine. |
RE: Can I use Saito 65 in LT-40???
Yes, you can use the same fuel in both 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines. I use Cool Power 15% in all of my engines. Never had a lick of problems at all.

Just make sure that the fuel you are using has at least 18% oil in the mix and you should be fine. I use Sport fuel which is a combination of Castor oil and snythetic. I found some fuels that won't list the oil content on the bottle. If it doesn't have it listed, don't buy it! [8D]

You might want to check that you have enough propeller clearance from the ground with your four stroke installed.

Most LT40's will clear a 13inch prop if you really had to. For sure a 12 inch. As I have with an OS 61SF with a 13 inch MAS. Just about peeled the wing off. I don't recommend anyone trying to emulate that. Kadets are not pylon racers.
