Electron 6 rcvrs
Hello,
1) I was wondering can I use Electron 6 micro receivers in my 140 size YAK. I use them in my 40 size planes. Size of the A/C shouldn't matter should it? 2) I need to measure my control throws on my Funtana 90. I have a throwmeter but it reads in inches and mm. The manual has degrees for the Funtana. What do I do? |
RE: Electron 6 rcvrs
Size of the receiver does not matter. What does matter is the range. Some of the park flyer receivers have limited range, the electron does not. Try taking one of the cheap clear protractors and overlaying it on your throw meter. mark off the degrees onto the throw meter. should work ok.

RE: Electron 6 rcvrs
Great idea, thanks heading to lowes now. And thanks on the rcvr question also.

RE: Electron 6 rcvrs
If you are into math try this: The distance covered by 1 degree of angle (37.6992 / 360 or, circumference divided by 360 degrees) is 0.1047 inch at 6 inches from center of circle.
And, 1 minute of angle represents (0.1047 / 60 or, 1 degree divided by 60 minutes) 0.001745 inch at 6 inches from center of circle. |
RE: Electron 6 rcvrs
Does the "Hangar 9 angle pro 4-in-1 digital control throw & incidence meter" measure degrees??
|
RE: Electron 6 rcvrs
yes it does, i recently purchased one to set wing incidence on a GP Super Skybolt and it works wonderfully. However, it ONLY reads degrees so....the other planes that gives inches for control throws does require a bit of trig.

RE: Electron 6 rcvrs
I wasn't trying to be a smart %#@ MSCIC about the math problem. I was just joking that it was over my head and it would be easier just to go to lowes and get a protractor as you suggested at first

RE: Electron 6 rcvrs
Thanks Parr, I bought one of those so now I won't have to go to lowe's MSCIC. [8D] Thanks guys

RE: Electron 6 rcvrs
I have a YAK 54 140 size. What engine should I get? I have all os engines now 4- .46.s, 1-.61 I
1) I want to put an OS 160($299) in it, but I like the 2) SAITO 125 (More expensive). I've never had a gas engine but I was thinking about getting a 3) Fuji Imvac. What do you guys think? |
RE: Electron 6 rcvrs
G'day Mate,
Go for the OS 160FX, great motor, will haul the Yak around with authority. & about receivers you may find that you will need at least 7 channels to set up & fly the Yak properly, & avoid "Y" leads, 2 Aileron, 2 elevator, 1 high torque on rudder & 1 for throttle, thats 6 channels, but remember there is always a retract channel that you can't use, it is not proportional. |
RE: Electron 6 rcvrs
it's not proportional, BUT you can ALWAYS throw in another servo and microswitch for a smoke system....you guys keep forgetting how cool flat spins look with smoke........LOL[8D]
