I usually just let it dry and peal it off, But if you need chemicals.......acetone,MEK,fingernail polish remover......

You natural skin oils will get to it, someday!!! I didn`t think much of that CA remover Tower sells, but it works pretty good. Guess they still sell it ?? Thats the scrubbing stone or what ever ??>>>>>>>>>>big max 1935

I grabbed the thin CA instead of the med CA this weekend.
Splash, all over my hand.
I still have some under my wedding ring.

I have used all of the above methods.
I like sandpaper when CA and balsa is attached.
Most of the times I just wait and pick at it, it will come off.

CA is nothing, I fried my hand twice with the soldering iron this weekend. I will take the CA anytime.

There was many a time that I was tempted to CA my wifes ring on at the rate she was famous for loseing it. :)

I do miss Ambroid and the pleasent experiance of chewing it off you fingers but it did tend did to make a mess on you lap!

JohnBuckner: Ambroid was good , I liked the sweet aroma of Testors formula A better , formula B tasted awful when on your tongue. I had no time at all for DUCO,but they had neat little screw cap that we used for push-rod guides on U/Controls. What did they want to know when this thread started? I always keep a bottle of debonder handy. Its basically 100% nitro, so I would imagine that if you were REALLY stuck you could try some model fuel.

More importantly, I almost always wear gloves when glueing. Its amazing how far down thin CA will wick and there are a couple of places on my airplane where there is a small shred of nitrile glove stuck to it. That represents saved skin!


The cost of the box of gloves is more than made up for when you think of how some people develop alergies to CA, epoxy, etc.

I have tried the pacer ca debonder and it did'nt work at all at softening ca on my fingers as well as wood joints even after repeated applications. It could have been a bad bottle........

DO NOT USE ACETONE, MEK, OR OTHER SOLVENTS ON YOUR SKIN!!!!!!!!

CANCER IS NOT FUN!!!!!

DE-BONDER IS FOR WOOD AND SUCH, NOT SKIN.

Try using Nu-skin or similar products. They go on like hand cream, and form a barrier on your skin that you wash off later.
As a last resort, soak in warm water, and peel, or use some 220 grit.

A method that I haven't seen anyone here mention that works good for me is a pumice stone and warm water. I haven't figured out anything yet for getting it out of under fingernails.

I wash my hands regularly, and I noticed that after a few, the ca just flakes off. Good thing it doesn't take my skin with it. As usual use ca in well ventilated areas and try to avoid skin contact as much as possible. I use gloves sometimes if I'm handling a larger amount of ca........

Not true...debonder is mostly nitromethane, and is even designed and advertised to separate stuck fingers.

Well for fun I'll add a Glue story.

While on my Honeymoon in Tahiti my wife was fixing a broken nail.
her super glue (basically CA) bottle was clogged and she was squeezing it to free up the obstruction when to her surprise a big stream squirted right into her eye. We were 30 minutes from a nurse and 24 hours from the nearest doctor capable of handling our situation so there was some mild panic going on since she had a sizeable amount of superglue on the very front of her cornea. We were after about an hour able to talk to an eye doctor in the U.S. that contacted a specialist who called us to ease our concern. It turns out he tells us that Super glue albeit a more sterile version is used during surgery to act as a stitch. After a few days it simply sluffs off like a dissolving stitch and Wa La no problem.

CA on fingers does the same and can be used (while not recommended) in a pinch to hold skin together that has been cut until you can properly take care of the injury.

Gluing your fingers together is nothing, try gluing the darn bottle in the palm of your hand. Some how the CA bottle got a hole near the top and I did not notice that some was running into the palm of my hand. Well, there I am with bottle in palm, thumb and first finger holding parts together when the fumes of the kicker set off the Ca in the palm. There I am in a situation to solve. Do I continue with the assembly or try to get the bottle removed. Needles to say I finished the parts. I then had to drain the bottle and cut away the parts that were not stuck to me. After some nipping at the remainder of the bottle I had to deal with a stiff spot on the palm for a few days. Needless to say I always wear surgical gloves now.

Worked with a maintainance man in a rest home that thought CA WAS!! properly caring for an injury.

I just pull it. It hurts, but it works. You can also douse with water. That helps also. Getting CA stuck on my fingers happens to me, too often.
