Sheesh skyshark prices just priced me out of the market for warbirds ill never pay 700 dollars for an arf from anybody even if its gold plated [:o]

Because there are no Skyshark trainer aircraft it really doesn't matter much for a beginner, does it?

They offer the same ARF for $389 with their "economy pricing." I think the intent is to highlight all of the extras included at $749.95

Yeah,I was looking at thier Christian Eagle when it first came out.Then I seen how much YOU had finnagle the wings to get it to fit for the price they wanted,I said NO WAY. It's an ARF not a kit.

You didn't say which plane you are talking about, but I assume you are referring to the P-40 they put out. I took a look at that plane and I don't see what's so out of line with their price. It's a big plane, 82" wingspan, designed for a big motor (45cc -60cc). The price of $749 seems pretty reasonable for a plane that big. There are a lot expenses above the $749 for the plane. This plane doesn't come with any landing gear so you have to purchase retracts separately. Plus the cost of a gasser in that size range isn't going to be cheap either.

If you're interested in a P-40 ARF you might look at the [link=http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=HAN2850]Hanger 9 P-40[/link] . I recently did a review on that plane and I can tell you it's a pretty good plane. You can find the review [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/magazine/article_display.cfm?article_id=713]here[/link] . It runs $259 and that price includes the retracts too. It's designed for a 60 size 2-stroke. As I said in my review, it fliesm or like a sport plane than a warbird, but it looks very good in the air.

Here is another much cheaper alternative for ARF Warbirds ranging in sizes from .46 to 1.40 They have a pretty big selection, they are cheaper than anything else I have found & the quality is pretty good. I just got a P-51 60 size from them for $125 complete with retracts. It is a beautiful plane with a very nice covering job on it. Can't find a single wrinkle. It is a pretty complete ARF. All I need to add is a radio, engine & spinner. Some of them may come with a plastic spinner depending on which model you like. Have a look & see if anything rings your bell.:)

P.S. A friend of mine bought their Warhawk P-40E 140 size for $225 then dropped a Saito 180 in it. It is an awesome looking airplane, & a fantastic flyer too!!

I think Red feels this thread is in the wrong forum. I can't read his mind but I'm guessing the idea is that "Beginners" are typically not buying warbirds.

Oh, they ARE buying them - against the best of advice. They just aren't assembling or flying them successfully! [X(]

The plane is pretty inexpensive compared to the retracts, engine, servos and time/money it takes to gain the experience required to fly it!
