SLOW V INFO
 

Has anybody flown the Parkzone slow v? A friend of mine want,s to get a slow stik like mine and I,m thinking a slow v might do the trick, it comes with everything that you need in one box.

The Parkzone Slo-V was my first electric I purchased shortly after a .40 sized trainer. I thought it was a great buy and well worth the money. Once I felt comfortable flying RC via my club training program, I flew my Slo-V everyday behind my house. For about $140 it is flyable right out of the box in 45 minutes building/charging time. I recommend buying the 6-Cell extra battery pack. They also sell other items when you get bored with just the airplane: ADM (drops a parachute) my kids loved it, and a combat module to battle with other Slo-Vs. My friend and I both used the Slo-V as an entry level electric. We now fly Brushless, Li-Pos along with multiple glow aircraft. I say "go for it"!

Thanx SLFLT, I went out last night to the hobby store, The guy told me he would put together a package for the slowstik for 175.00. I thought that might be the way to go. My buddy really likes mine, and for a couple xtra bucks, it,s worth it. I just hope he sticks with it.

Good to hear. That is about what I paid for the aircraft and extra battery pack. The build is easy with no glue required. I recommend sliding the wing position far aft. This will keep your CG position forward which will result in a more stable aircraft both during flight and dead sticks (which is pretty much how I always recovered the airplane). Parkzone (and your local hobby shop) has a good supply of extra parts for those hard landings. It doesn't like too much wind so plan on flying early in the AM and near sunset. My buddy put a .049 on the front of one of his for a goof. He bought two, one for him and one for his son. It worked well but I wouldn't recommend it. Have fun. Cheers,

2 years ago my dad bought me a slow-V for my birthday. I had been interested in R/C for a while, but due to friction with the local AMA club, and the airport management (they were flying on an abandoned runway at the local airport) I could never find an instructor, and didn't want to spend 300+ $$$ on a nitro model, just to teach myself, (although eventually that's what happened anyway) Long story short, I taught myself to fly on the Slo-V, and have been thoroughly impressed with it's flight characteristics. The only complaint I have is the radio system seems to glitch every once in a while, causing the motor to cut momentarily, and a slight control surface movement. But I have gotten 1/2-2 years out of mine, and have been impressed. (I think my radio problem might be a bad interference capacitor on the motor) Great airplane for the money!!!!!hope you guys have fun, no matter what way you go! Oh, and I agree with SLFlt on the battery, I have 2, and one 7 cell. The 7 cell is more than that airplane needs, but it does increase climbs considerably. I also have found that at my field elevation of 4500 feet, a GWS 1180 orange prop performs much better than the stock 1148 gray parkzone. just my 2 cents!

i put a gws 1047 on my slo v works good can fly upside down forever
