Tx/Rx battery question

Last weekend I bought two GWS 1600 mah NiMH packs. I refigured one to use in my transmitter, and split the other into two receiver packs. I used a soldering iron and quality solder, along with JR factory battery pigtails. I have cycled them twice with a Hobbico Accu-Cycle charger. My question is, The transmitter pack discharged 1108 mah in 135 minutes. The receiver pack only discharged 510 mah in 62 minutes. Shouldn't the receiver pack be about the same as the transmitter? or did I get a bad pack? The charger has a set discharge rate of 250 or 500 mah. I set it on 500 mah. It also has a 125 mah charge rate, and a set 15 hour charge time.

UMMMM...by those numbers, they aren't that far off. I assume they were discharged at the same rate. Am I missing something?

After doing the math, they are almost exactly the same.

1108/135 = 8.2(sumthin) and 510/62. = 8.2(sumthin)

RE: Tx/Rx battery question

Are you sure you set the reciever pack to 4 cell on the Accu-Cyle?
BTW I have several GWS packs and I have yet to get one to work at rated capacity, they are all at least 20% less than they are advertised to be (I wont buy another GWS pack)
1 more edit: I just thought, and especially with NiMH batteries, some batteries do not perform well under high current draw and you may be getting a bad reading by discharging at 500 ma. Try a lower setting and see what you come up with?

RE: Tx/Rx battery question

I have to dissagree with your math Agexpert (and I am probably wrong as usual :D)
Each cell in the pack are rated at 1600 mah.
Pack 1 should discharge the 1600 mah @ 500 ma in just over 3 hours @ 9.6 volts nominal.
Pack 2 with 4 cells should still be a 1600 mah pack and disharge in the same 3 hour period @ 4.8 volts.
Neither pack showed full potential.

RE: Tx/Rx battery question

I understand what you are saying. Those numbers were taken after two complete charge and discharge cycles. I just thought that the receiver battery should have had the same amount of mah left as the transmitter. And, yes, the charger is set for a 4-cell receiver pack. I may agree with you about the GWS batteries. I bought them for the price, but I may have gotten what I paid for?
