Technique for loose servo screws: help
I took some servos out of a plane and noticed they were loose. What is a good technique for making sure they are secure when I go to re-install the servos? I know I can use a bigger screw but I don't want to do that. Someone said put a little CA in the holes. Any other good techniques would be appreciated.

RE: Technique for loose servo screws: help
C.A. does the trick, you can fill with bulsa before adding CA.... If not, and you donot
want to use a bigger screw, You can pull the servo and CA a small piece of light ply and redrill... If you add the CA during the build, and not over tighten they will last pretty long... |
RE: Technique for loose servo screws: help
Thin CA in the holes is the right answer :D

RE: Technique for loose servo screws: help
Use thin CA and wick it down the screw holes. Make sure you give the CA plenty of time to dry before you put the screw back in. Trust me.

i Agree With CA I Just Add 1 Thing.I Put A Piece Of Tooth Pick In The Hole First So It Lays On The Side Of The Hole Then The Drop Of CA.After It Drys Brake The extra Off. Makes The Mount Better Then New.

RE: Technique for loose servo screws: help
A toothpick or other thin sliver of wood CA'd in the hole and let dry very well. Do NOT put screws in too soon or you will NEVER get them out again. [:@] Ask Ken how he knows. :D

What I do is add a think piece of bass wood or some other harder wood to the area, trace the holes back into the bass wood, then CA the whole thing. If you use soft balsa without a solid backing, it can still pull through.
