RE: is this a good plane??
It seems pretty similar in features and price to the new Hobbyzone Super Cub RTF package that just came out. If you have faith that Hobbytron will stand behind this product and will provide you with good customer service and spare parts after you buy one, you should be happy with this plane.

RE: is this a good plane??
Very nice video... I like the music! Not a bad looking plane either. It might be worthwhile. Keep in mind, however, that planes this small usually don't handle wind very well. So you may have to wait for calm days to fly it.
If you get it, let us know how it handles. |

RE: is this a good plane??
I have a buddy with one of these and the first thing he wished he had done was get the four channel version w/ ailerons; second in the video notice the wing flex while doing a loop... yes my buddy snapped his wing. Some fiber reinforced packing tape run spanwise across the wing from tip to tip on the bottom side would help a lot. I understand the desire to fly when you have limited funds makes these little foam park flyers atractive but I agree w/ Chuck; find a AMA club field and see what a larger plane can do and you will probably change your mind. Mow a few lawns in your neighborhood and get some more money together, you would be suprised what people will pay to not have to mow their own lawn.:D Good luck in whatever you decide.

thanks guys........yauh i was thinking about a big plane and i have a job right now so i have plenty of money......its just with those big planes you have to put a motor in them and all this other stuff and i have know idea how to do that......is it hard or do they come with a manual?? and i will look into a club thanks

RE: is this a good plane??
They come with manuals and the trainers are pretty simple in design. If money is not an object for you here look into some of these RTF planes.

RE: is this a good plane??
Part of me wants to tell you, "uhm no there isn't" but that would be a lie. Hangar 9 put out a P-51 "trainer" I have never flown or seen one fly but there are mixed reviews on it as being great to being rediculously unstable or to fast to be a trainer. here is the link.

RE: is this a good plane??
http://www.hangar-9.com/PTS/Multimedia.aspx thats the link for the video........it looks a little fast but do you think it would make a good trainer to take to a club and fly

RE: is this a good plane??
There are lots of instructors on this forum. If your seriously concidering this plane start a new thread asking for "instructor opinions wanted; H9 P-51 PTS" or something like that. One of the benifits of that P-51 and the Hobbico Nexstart select is that they come with a downsized version of a simulator for the computer you can practice with. But I am not an instructor and will not recomend a plane I have not flown.
