can some1 expand on the expo setting , does 50% setting mean dat u r losing 50% of servo travel??

Basically, expo softens the movement of your controls when you first move your sticks. You still have full travel of your control surfaces. I use it and it is a lot of help when you are trying to not over control your airplane.

Also, end point travel will will increase or decrease the travel of the servo. This is a easy way to increase or decrease the travel of your control surfaces.

exponential is a mathematical curve were the control gets steeper away from center,using Futaba you can get more or less response around the center position by dialing in negative [-] or positive [+].To soften or slow the servo response to the linear stick movement around the center point,dial in - %,t o speed the movement dial in + %.The % change is in relation to the linear movement of the stick around the center position,usually the expo on the throttle works at the ends instead of the center.All expo works basically the same ,some brands use positive to soften the center,some at positive speed the center. Minnflyer, I don't think the servo travel surpasses the stick position when using expo. I may be wrong, but I think the servo only catches up with the stick at 100% stick travel.

Not so fast. When using expo (negative on Futaba and positive on JR), this is what the graph looks like. Not a perfrect curve bu you get the idea. As you can see, the elevator doesn't catch up with stick position until you reach 100% travel. Unless you are running a point curve, if you soften the middle then you can't soften the ends and vice versa.

Hi Flyfalcons,correct if using to soften, not correct when speeding up using expo,for some strange reason lot of people think expo is used only to soften around the center position,it's also used to speed up the curve at center if one has a sluggest plane or what ever.Take your plane and radio ,go to expo then play with + and-.

Yes, of course you can use expo in either positive or negative direction, and my graph would be reversed when using positive expo on Futaba. Minnflyer's graph makes it look like you are softening the center and the ends at the same time. To me the graph looks like you are moving the stick in one direction, not both ways like in my graph. That is where the confusion is coming from.

Flyfalcons, You are absolutely correct, I was mearly trying to show that the control moves to a lesser degree at the lower inputs, but you still have full control at the top.
