Well, Another Beginner! 15 years old! Getting the T-HAWK
Hey everybody,
When i researched the web about a good first airplane, i found out, that the best thing for me would be the T-Hawk. So i just ordered one :D . I think it will be not a very big problem for learning how to fly, since i got 4 years of experience in R/C cars. The only question i have is: Can the T-hawk run with NIMH Batteries like this 2/3a type? http://www.onlybatteries.com/webimages/images/10662.jpg I just wanted to say hi and say that i will stay here! When i get my t-hawk i will post some videos. BTW: Awesome, Board! Cya all! ;) |
Batteries
Yes you can use those.
As you said, the car experience will help with this plane stuff. A T-Hawk is an exellent choice for your first plane, I read a review on it, and it seemed like a very good one. It's got a more "normal" type of radio, too. Jetts |

Nik,
I'm 14 yrs. old. I've been flying for about 2 years. Right now I have a hobbico spectrum. This was my secound airplane. My first airplane was an Avistar. I've read some stuff and it seems that a T-Hawk is a pretty good beginners plane. have fun in the hobby. Airplane_boy |

Had a T-Hawk as my first plane, nice plane, easy flyer. I like you moved over from Cars, and actually learned to fly on my own, and have since joined a club and got my first IC model.
The battery's you're looking at are exactly the same size as the battery pack that comes with the T-Hawk, so they will be fine, and if you fly it so that you're climbing under power, and switch the engine off to glide round for a bit, you should be looking at flights of about 20 minutes each. One thing you do need to remember, BE GENTLE ON THE STICKS!!!!!! Don't just pull full deflection to turn or climb like with a car, or you will smash it up in no time. |
