How do you seal hinge gaps
Well call me stupid but I have never sealed a hinge gap. I did some searches and all I could find was what to use to seal the hinge gap. Tape, monokote, etc.. Now all I need is a good technique. I am sure it is simple and I'm sorry if this question has been asked a million times I just couldn't find the "HOW" when I did my search. Plenty of "WHAT" but no "HOW" any help is always appreciated

Thats easy use what ever you covered the plane with. Or you can use clear Monokote. Cut a strip as wide as you need 1/2 or 3/4 inch and as long as needed. Iron the strip on the bottom of the wing or stab 1/4 inch bend the flying surface up iron on back of TE in gap then onto flying surface LE then onto bottom of flying surface. when finished it will look like a upside down V with two flat legs. Do that to all hinge gaps. Takes two minutes and your done

How do you seal hinge gaps
great explination thanks. for some reason all I could see in my head was ironing on to both flat surfaces with the control surface flexed up but then when it was flexed down I would have a bunch of extra material with no place to go. Looks like the V is the answer. Thanks again.

You can also get some clear packing tape from the hardware store. It's quick, cheap, and I was supprised at how well it holds up. Just make sure to clean the places you're taping with alcohol.

I second what jetranger says and encourage you to learn how to do it.I do it on every plane I build and have never heard a sign of flutter.
