Hinge
Is there a difference between a CA Hinge and EZ Hinge ?
If so, what is it . I read reference to the EZ Hinge sometimes in the threads . |
RE: Hinge
I'm pretty sure an EZ hinge is a plastic hinge made by Sig. Unlike a CA hinge you would use epoxy with the EZ hinges.

RE: Hinge
Pinned hinges is the only kind I will use and as I recently learned, for pinned hinges, using a product called hinge glue is far easier to use than epoxy. :)

"CA Hinge" is a generic term and "EZ Hinge" is a brand same for the same thing. These hinges are also known as flexible hinges, laminated hinges and mylar hinges. |

RE: Hinge
If you want to fly your plane and "hope" your hinges don't fail...use CA Hinges. If you want to fly and know they won't fail...use pinned hinges.

RE: Hinge
And if you install your CA hinges correctly, you'll never have a failure.
Of course, if you don't trust your building skills, use those clunky old-fashioned pinned hinges. |
RE: Hinge
I got to jump back in and get my feet wet.
I think either one is ok ,if done correctly. Lighter planes(smaller) I would lean more to the CA Hinges and bigger planes both hinges could be used. |
