What to practice on Flight Sim
Hey guys! Just got G3 yesterday. After deciding it was getting colder and colder, and im going to need somthing to play with :D
Anyways. After getting over the innitial phase of OMG let me fly every plane. and crash every plane~ Anyways. Ive found a couple planes that are simliar to my Twist 3d, and was wondering If trying to practice Stunts and hovering in the sim is anything like the planes actual tendencies when actually flying. Also i was wondering what i should practive on my Flight sim? like are their certain manauvers or things to try and Make perfect that will greatly increase my Skill? Thanks! |
RE: What to practice on Flight Sim
idk man but i flew my brothers nexstar sim that came with his plane and i practiced flying on that for about a month and when i went and flew for the first time it was soooooo much easier than the sim so i think if u get it mastered on the sim than it shuold be easier (mabey) on the real thing but dont go off and crash lol

RE: What to practice on Flight Sim
Set up the wind for a 12mph cross wind to the runway, and turn up the turbulence to about 20% and Microturbulence to about the same. Set wind variation to about 40%.
Then keep practicing landings at higher and higher crosswinds. This will make you a genius at the field, when everyone else is grounded. |
RE: What to practice on Flight Sim
If you haven't already... Don't forget to update the program, the last update made it
seem a lot better... And I can't wait for the next one at months end to 3.5..... |
RE: What to practice on Flight Sim
Don't forget deadstick landings.

Be careful that you don't become lazy. Make your flights realistic, don't fly over the pitts, don't do stunts way lower than usual, and practice landings in all conditions. You will find that sims are a great way to keep yourself up to date.

RE: What to practice on Flight Sim
sims are great I do all the things I would never do at the field putting my plane in unrecoverable spins and see if I can save it or not, also strait practice touch and goes, work on your basics when you can land spot on and do some basic flying then push your level of ability you will be surprised how comfortable you will be at the field got to love the reset button. and yes the sim seems to me pretty realistic as far as the flight characteristics go.

Dorsil,
I fly EVERYTHING on the sim. I still have G2 and I like it a lot. I am preparing to maiden my C47 for the first time as soon as the weather cooperates with my days off. I have practiced every flight mishap I can think of on the sim. I have thrown in a ton of nasty weather conditions, although I am waiting for a nice calm day for the actual flight. Remember the RUDDER is an important part of the aircraft, espescially with Tail Draggers. I like to fly with others on the sim on line. I find it amusing when I Host a Sesion and everyone wants the wind turned down to nothing. However, it does make for good fellowship time. Good Luck on your progress. |

Mr67Stang,
A little off subject, may we please see a photo of your 67 Stang? My old 69 fastback was one of the only cars I have ever owned that made me feel like I was in an aircraft. I Flew Low in it many times. You can see my vehicle in my gallery. Dorsil, How's that sim practice going? Good luck. |
