NEED a reversed engine...
Hy.. i´m just new to that forum .. and .. need some help... and came across that lot of messages u guys posted up there..
as u remember.. there was a persone . .with a engine that insisted in running backwards ;-)) I NEED ONE OF THOSE !! i ...after 12 years on the hobby .. just started to build my own planes... and ..as my second plane .. would like to build a plane with its engine in the back of the plane ( a Devastator .. from Crimson Skies game..).;-)... its a biplane... with a back located engine.. HOW can i do that trick ???? tnks for any help ;-) Rodrigo Meira |
Use reverse prop
It is fairly difficult to reverse the direction of most rotor induction engines. You must buy a different crankshaft or on some models you can rotate the front housing. But it is much easier to acquire a reverse prop - called a "pusher" prop.

NEED a reversed engine...
I agree with DMcQuinn
just get a pusher prop and You will have less headaches. If You have a reversed engine the also remember that when you need to use a starter it to has to be reversed. K&b engines with the 4 screw front housing can be reversed by rotating the housing 90% but I think the fuel consumption increases and is hard to tune. Pusher props are available most any hobby supply. Dan Z. |
NEED a reversed engine...
Very few engines have an optional reverse crank (I think Fox do one) but with any engine that has a removeable front housing just turn the housing 90 degrees in the normal direction of rotation so the carb's sticking out the same side as the muffler. The beauty of this arrangement is that you can use any of the normal props instead of being limited to the harder to find pusher props. Just remember to put the prop on "backwards" :)
Another thing to be aware of is that when running on the ground there's not too much cooling air flow so keep full throttle running to a minimum. And don't ever use a plain bearing engine as a pusher... |

Thank You ;-)
Thank´s Guys !!! .. A LOT for the answers ;-)..;-)
i´ll look for a Pusher Prop ;-).. but since i live in brazil.. i don´t think that will be too easy.... (nothing like tower hobbies here ;-((().. maybe i´ll just order one !! Thank you ;-)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) :) |

Where is brazil do you fly? My wife is from Rio and we're thinking about moving there for a couple of years. How is the flying there? Do you know of any RC websites in Brazil? |
