He i have been playing around with a realflight sim I have the orinigal and have been flying the space walker. I love the thing but.. im note sure i want to invest into a 1/4 scale as a second plane. What can you suggest that flies very similair to this plane but at a more freandly budget?

The Seagull Space Walker is a very nice plane to fly.The GP 1/4 scale will be even better, it can be a second plane IF you have really mastered the trainer. Mastering means you tell the plane what it does and every landing is greased in. The SW will not stall so easily so its forgiving enough as a second plane.

If you are looking for a 1/4 scale then you can also look into planes like the WM Super Sports Senior or Super Emaurade. How about the SIG 4*?

I'll second that. If you like the Spacewalker, there's no reason to not jump all over the Seagull Spacewalker II .40 ARF:

You could pair this up with a good radio and the .46 or .50-sized 2-stroke motor of your choice for a great flying airplane at a terrific price.

Yeah the Seagull Spacewalker II is a great RC airplane.

Put in at least a .46 AX engine or it's equivalent GMS .47/TH .46 not anything smaller.

It's a bit heavy so it needs the extra power.

A .51 would be even better.

I have the Seagull Spacewalker myself. A great airplane and more of a floater when landing than I expected.
I thought about putting an OS 70 in mine but found the pre-installed motor mount was too narrow so I went with a TT Pro 46.
Great plane, easy fast assembly. Mine came out of the box with not one single wrinkle or bubble in the covering.
Only negative so far? Landing gear block was not glued in very good and popped loose, other than that you will love your Spacewalker.

how is it with the .46? can you pull it have decently i would like to be able to do some fun acrobtics so do you think it can hang off the prop?


how much pain would it be to change motor mounts?

I don't think I can hang it on the prop but it does have good vertical and is a good aerobatic plane.
The shape and depth of the firewall from the opening would make it difficult to change the motor mount (you would have to get some blind nuts in there)

Hello; I flew my Spacewalker for 2 years before I got to fly it on a simulator. I was quite impressed that the simulator flew very much like the model, and was soon flying around much like I do the model. I have to re cover that one before I fly it again. If the little one flys like the quarter scale one, it'll be a real fun plane. I have an earlier "Realflight" simulator with a spacewalker on it, works great.

The .46 2 stroke will give you slightly better performance than the .70 four stroke.

The Spacewalker will snap roll, perform slides, hammerheads, inverted flight, etc.

It will not hover nor knifeedge with any ease.

It tends to go to the belly if I remember correctly, during a KE attempt.

A hover would require a bigger lower pitched prop, and given the weight of the plane a .50+ 2 stroke would be mandatory. Even then it is ill suited to this as the control surfaces don't get much of the prop wake.

Inverted flight is pretty easy if you push the nose down while inverted.

Flying Freak - you should be shot for tring to hang a Space Walker!!! Okay a really really good engine is the ASP 52 2C. Super cheap and the performance is really good, runs happily on 5% nitro! You can use a 12x6 or 13x4 prop with the ASP. I have always used TT46 and I can say the ASP is much better. Its easy to tune and the response totally crisp.

Another good engine is the MVVS 49 (its a little ugly), she can really haul a plane. You have to see that baby pull a plane vertical out of sight and the engine does not bog down. Also, runs superb on 5% nitro. You will turn an 11x6 with that engine. Its hardy and will fly for a couple of years on WOT only, how do I know? I got this friend at the field who only flies WOT ... the engine lasted 2 years before a bearing change and finally bit the dust when I planted one of his planes!

tIANci, your right about the ASP 52, awesome engine!! I have one in my Decathlon and the power really shows. The engine took about 6 tanks of fuel ro get it to settle down but after that, WOW! I have been so impressed with the first one that I ordered another one and I don't even have a plane for it yet! :D
