ORIGINAL: garywi Hi, I have the Hobbico TorqMaster 90 Deluxe 12V with the little battery box that attaches. Well, this combo wont start my OS91. I bought a bigger battery, 12V 7ah. How can I attach this big battery to the starter. It wont fit in the box. Anyone have a pic? thanks! http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXL372&P=V you can use the brackets to attach to the starter and mfg some metal brackets to go from the bottom screws on one side of the brackets, down around the battery and back up to the other screws on the other side. Kinda cradling the battery. One of the guys at my field has an arrangement like this and it works well. Run the power leads directly to the battery tabs. You can find suitable crimp-on spade connectors that will push onto the battery tabs at an auto parts store. |

I have had mine this way for years. Just use the big hobbico torquemaster battery. Go to a hardware store and get a coupl elong heavy duty zip ties and strap it together. Cut the ends off the starter wire and replace with the clips that will slide on to the battery terminals. No sweat!

The 180 starter is too long for the battery. If I just strapped it on the battery, it would sit right on top of the terminals.
I can't believe no one makes a battery box that can bolt onto the 180 starter? G |

No no, set it on the side of the battery, the terminals won't be in the way.

Yes, I thouht about setting on the side, which would work. How sealed, is a sealed lead acid battery? I shake it, and don't hear any thing. My luck turning it on it's side would come back to haunt me.
