BBOwen,
Get with someone in your area who is a qualified Instructor/Builder and make them your mentor. Stick to them like glue and learn all you can. Winter is here, so maybe someone will get back on a tutorial.

I'm hoping to get back to it this winter, but right now I have a review that I need to finish writing. Not only did spring happen on us, but a couple of guys working on the project had some personal issues come up that took priority. And I totally agreed, family always comes first!

BBOwen,
No harm intended brother. I was merely trying to be helpful. What are you buildig right now? I'm finishing a 1/5th scale Top Flite P-51B with metal skin. She will be awesome!

You should check out the sticky post at the top of this section which has got lots of information on possible beginner planes. You should also check www.gettingairborne.com which covers a lot of ground on starting on the hobby.

RE: Beginners Tutorial

I understand your logic, but a ducted airfan, or jet of any type, isn't really best airplane to learn with.

You really need to start with a trainer or a beginner type park flyer. If you have no access to a club I would suggest getting a slow and stable park flyer.
