when i put my hinges in, my elevator is really stiff wonering how i could loosen it up?

Stiff hinges

What type of hinges? I they are CA then flex a few times and it should be fine assuming you left enough space for the surface to move. If they are pinned and you have epoxy in them or in the hinge slot it may be a problem with excess glue binding the surface.

If they are still too stiff, cut 'em off and do it again!
