need help on pros and cons?fellow I know selling out has 6 channel for sell and plane with everything had been looking at futaba 6 channel but his is at a pretty good price.What do you think?

My first radio was an airtronics, 6 channel vanguard. I've had it for about 7 years, and it has never failed me once. To let you know, I also have a futaba T6XA. Also a great radio. If it is cheaper, I would say go with it. Airtronics has always made a great radio in my opinion.

I'd go with it....I LOVE my Airtronics radioS....have 4 or 5 of 'em - can't keep track - Senior Moment :-)

I'm not sure which radio you're referring to. Airtronics makes good equipment. I would, however, avoid their older gear that uses the Airtronics Standard (black) connector. All of their newer stuff has the "Z" connector (blue), which is interchangable with JR and Futaba. That saves a lot of hassle. Before you buy, make sure you know what type of connectors it uses.

Also, if it's a used radio make sure to ask about the condition of the batteries. Ask the seller to cycle them and tell you what type of shape they're in. Having to buy new batteries can quickly turn a bargain into a money pit.

Hate to be a stick in the mud. Had 3 airtronics radios. Never again. All 3 radios had servos that gliched all the time. They were all more expensive heli radios and a Vangaurd. Call the factory and all I could get from them is "Isolate the problem and call us back." I call Futaba and on a problem and it is solved. Actually just sent them a reciever that I messed up by my own fault and they fixed it for free. Great company. Have been with them for 25 years. Will stay with them.

I use my gear a LOT and I can honestly say (after owning two futaba radios also, and just purchasing a JR10X a month ago) that the Airtronics gear is top notch, and every bit as good as the other big brands.

Even if the plugs are the older style, its easy to flip the pos/neg on any new servo/switch/other plug you buy today and use them. If its a good deal go for it! Also, I have had very good luck getting my radios serviced (had a litium battery replaced and a gimbal fixed inthe past year, I dropped the radio) at the Airtronics repair center in California.

Thats all I can offer, my own experiences!

Switched to Airtronics from Kraft in 1989. Still using 2 old Vanguards for trainers, and they have been crashed a number of times, never requiring more than minor repairs. Airtronics service is FAST, cheap and courteous. I am also very happy with my RD-6000 which I use for 4 different models. In my opinion it's computer has programming features superior to the 6XA. I did play with a 6XA before buying the RD6000

But it is a Ford/Chevy thing.
