Throttle control
I have a weird issue that keeps coming up when Im flying. I can never tell by feel just where I am on the throttle. Am I at 1/2 or 3/4 throttle?...etc Listening doesnt help because usually there are other planes drowning out the sound. I always need to take my eye off the plane and look down for a sec to be sure. It would be really nice if my radio had a different click right at half throttle but no such luck. Are there any techniques to knowing with a good deal of accuracy just where you are on the throttle at any moment? Thanks

you need to observe the throttle movement on the ground(with engine NOT!! running) with relation to the stick. When the stick is half way, check to see if the throttle linc. has only moved half way.

Throttle control
Try reducing the throttle to zero (against the stop) momentarily then opening up to the required position, you can get a feel for it easier, as you have a reference point to work from. Also, say, on approach, you can actual count the clicks of throttle.

Try this...
Slide your fingers down the stick until you can feel the circle around the gimble. Then see if you can determine the angle that the stick is at in relation to the ring. |
