Help me chose a 2nd plane
 

Ok so im looking to get a new plane . Currently I have a easystar trainer and im looking for something better . I either want to go with the nexstar or the hangar 9 P-51 pts. I really want to get a warbird and plan on mostly flying them. I also have realflight g 3.5 and I can fly the nextstar pretty good and land it no plroblem.The P 51 is alittle harder for me to fly on the flight sim but I dont know if the Hangar 9 p-51 flies much different. Please help me make my decision.

Generally, war birds are tail draggers, and land and take off faster than what you're used to, so you might want to find a plane that has those attributes so you can practice. As you get closer and closer to a true scale plane, you'll be dealing with the problems of high wing loading and tipping over on your nose at landing ( the plane, not you hopefully) so whatever you get, you will need to be able to land and take off smoothly at a higher speed than you are now used to. Are you using rudder when you fly? If not, you might want to start, as most war birds need to be flown with rudder, especially on takeoff and landing.

You might want to just get something like a .40 sized stick to practice takeoffs and landings with a taildragger configuration. They are cheap, great flyers, and a whole lot of fun. It was my second plane, and I still have one, and fly it regularly. That P51 trainer would be fine as a second plane too if you wanted scale-like appearances.

I have a PTS as a second plane and I love it. It is a little faster but you can buddy box untill you get used to it. Then when you get good just take the droops off and then it really comes alive! In my opinion its not that much harder to Take off, land or fly. Have fun!
