I have the seagull spacewalker II 40 and can't get the C.G. right. the manual says 7.5 to 8 centimeters from the leading edge of the wing. It has an os 46ax all the way at the end of the mount,5oz. of lead on the firewall,RX batt. all the way up front on the fuel tank and it is still tail heavy. ANY SUGGESTIONS????????

my suggestion... add more weight! getting the CG right is critical for the first flight.

Just one stupid question. You are trying to get the balance point 7-8 cm BEHIND the leading edge, aren't you? With that weight distribution, it almost sounds like you're trying to balance it in front of the leading edge.
Is this your first plane? If so, its not a good choice. Get some help from a local club learning to fly. Brad |

Remove the lead you have added and remove the battery. Measure 3 1/8 inches back from the leading edge of the wing, mark it, turn the plane over on it's back and try to balance it on that mark by sliding the battery back and forth on the bottom of the fuselage. Once it is balanced mark the spot. Install the battery inside the fuselage over the balance spot you marked. Let us know what you come up with.

Measure from the leading edge of the wing (closest to the fuselage) to the trailing edge. Divide this figure by 3. Use this figure and measure that distance back from the leading edge (closest to the fuselage) to the trailng edge. This will be a good starting point.

I had the mark @ 2 1/2 in. instead of 3 1/8. i used a peice of tape to mark the cg and put it in the wrong place after i measured it,stupid mastake.I'm happy to say it only took 1 3/4oz. on the firewall to balance. yes, i balanced it inverted. Just getting back into the hobby after 6 years,so i consider myself pretty much a beginner. It's starting to come back to me. I have 3 airplanes, nextstar,decathlon 40,and the spacewalker. i have yet to fly any of them. been practicing on the realflight g3 sim. for 2 months now and going to join a local club soon. Thanks alot for all the input guys.
