RE: What Engine Manufacturer?
Re: "When did you see a newbie handle throttle management as well as controlling the airplane in the air without crashing?
I haven't in 31 years flying. " < ... if training is done on a buddy box in a controlled fashion it isn't a problem. I have taught new flyers as young as 8 years old with few problems. I start out telling them to set the throttle at just below half throttle before I allow them to take over and gradually have them start using the left stick. Maybe you should consider other training methods. [8D] |
RE: What Engine Manufacturer?
If you're a newbie, I don't think you're going to be in any National Competitions for a while so get what you can afford and enjoy the ride! This is a hobby, and learning as you go is all part of it.
Good luck on your decisions. |
RE: What Engine Manufacturer?
RE: "I get more satisfaction out of an engine that doesn't wanna run than one that gives me no problems. Making it run makes my day." < You would get a real charge out of Super Tigre and MDS engines then!!! :D
|
RE: What Engine Manufacturer?
That's funny cause of all the Super Tiger engines I have ever owned have never gave me any problems. Never tried any MDS's.
It's them high dollar engines I have the most problems with. And that's the truth! :) |
RE: What Engine Manufacturer?
I think you would be considered a PG (pilot god) at our field if you could gaet a ST to run half decent!! [8D]

RE: What Engine Manufacturer?
A friend of mine in the club has had a Super Tiger 61 for over 30 years, never tore it apart and still running strong.
They only run as good as the guy behind it can make it run. |
RE: What Engine Manufacturer?
Try the combo which Sig offer on their LT-40 with Aviastar Av-46
