trimming with monokote

I want to put some stripes and such on monokote with monokote. How do I do this? Just cut them out and iron them on? Someone had a thread on here some time back about this but I can't find it now. Ken had posted a reply involving windex I believe. I'm
new to covering so any help would be a big help Thanks in advance

Hi

I havn't used monokote but im sure the covering i do use are similar mainly solarfilm. Basically yes just cut out and iron on. for staraight edges i'd use a steel rule with a new scalpel on a self healing cutting mat. sharp scissors are ok to and when ironing on keep the iron as cool as will still stick to avoid shrinking.

There is the link to doing it with windex. But if you're just doing thin stripes it will probably be easier to just iron them on, a trim iron is outstanding for doing work like this but you can do it with a full covering iron if that's all you have. Use windex when you get to larger pieces of monokote you are putting down, because those larger pieces will get bubble in them if you try to apply them with heat.

Hope this helps
