Show us your trainers !!!

Whether it's a kit, ARF, RTF. or whatever you all know you are proud of it, so why not show it off on the RCU community. Even those that are way past trainers if you have an old pic to post it would be great to see the plane you started with. Or maybe your second trainer .
I learned to fly on the Sig Kadet Senior, instructions and solo, then gave it back to my buddy. I now have a PT-40 as my primary trainer and a TigerII as my low wing. |

I was learning to solo on my Nexstar when it was lost to a radio hit. I wasn't even on the controls at the time, one of our flight instructors was showing me how to do touch-and-goes while I was practicing my landings and he lost control of the plane.
I went to one of the local hobby stores and bought an old Hangar 9 Easy Fly 40 trainer airframe for $40 so I could finish soloing instead of losing more time while fixing the Nexstar. It was the Easy Fly .40 that I actually earned my solo certificate with: I do have a nice shot of my first landing lesson at another club while I was still flying my Nexstar: There isn't a straight line anywhere on that old Easy Fly .40 airframe, but if I trim enough left into the ailerons and rudder, it actually flies pretty well. It leads me to believe that the laws of airodynamics are merely suggestions when it comes to R/C! :D |

I started of with a 3 CH Art-Tech Wing Dragon. Great plane, especially after a few rough landing in the beginning :D Currently upgrading it to a 4 CH plane by replacing the wing with a 4CH Wing Dragon 4 wing. I upgraded the TX & RX from a 3 CH 27 MHz to a 4 CH 71 MHz.
From the Wing Dragon I moved on to an Art-Tech Cessna 182. This bird was upgraded from 3 to 4 CH. All I had to do was to replace the wing and add a servo. My most recent acquisition is a Multiplex Easy Glider to get me into gliding and flying in thermals |

Which decade and plane? Not pictured is an original Sig Kadet from 1980. Flew a Avistar most of this summer. Great flying plane. Unfortunately I crashed it before the club fun fly. Quickly moved the radio and engine into to Tower Trainer, which flew in September. Building a Kraftkit 4 Seasons 40 (semi-symetrical). Still have the Avistar wing I might fix and stick on a scratch built fuselage. Midwest Sweet Stick (kit), CG Falcon 56 MarkII (kit), Hobbico Avistar (ARF), Tower Trainer (ARF), Kraftkit 4 Seasons 40 (kit). 30+ flights averaging 20 minutes each on the Avistar this summer. I like building, appreciate the winters, but ARF's do have their place.

Hey all,
Great looking planes everyone! [8D] Here is my trainer called the Griffin. Going to be electric powered to [8D]. Its coming along nicely and ill hopefully have it complete in the next two months, and can get some test flying in to find out what changes I'll need to make to it to perfect it better. A few hurdles so far but its been very fun and challenging. Here is the link to the build thread: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_5258669/tm.htm -David |

Here is the one I am building. This will be my second flier. I am purchasing a 60 size trainer from a buddy to learn on. The pictured plane is a low wing trainer. There will be wing tip plates for stability. It is a 44" wingspan with a 25 size glow motor.
Scratch built from plans. It is a "Stitchen" Del |
