The Bug

If you want a neat little electric either as a starter electric or, for you experienced RC'ers, try this one out.

Go to www.lightflite.com and check out The Bug.

I saw a demo of it at the WRAM show this past weekend. Quite astonishing!!! This little thing is just about indestructable. It's made of EPP foam, uses a little CD-Rom motor with two cell LiPo, and will hover, "land on walls". nosed it up to the ceiling and it stayed there.. bounced off the floor, and I watched two of them mid-air and the pilot just picked it back up and hand launched.

The landing gear engineer is quite interesting and very functional. Light weight, only weighs at about 6 ounces with the battery and servo's, and motor.. give it a look.

I am posting a few pictures of it from their web site.

Price is great, fully equipped or just the plane, very reasonable and easy to build. Several of us bought the fully equiped version immediately after the demo flight.

That's pretty cool looking, CGRetired. It looks like a little tiny foam IFO.

Yeah, Big Ed. It is quite a performer too. Just about indestructable from what I saw. They had mid-airs, hit the wall pretty hard, and the ceiling, and of course, the floor. They they just picked them up and hand launched again and continued flying. Real neat little plane.

Bob: The dealer, Ron, said that if you shift the CG slightly forward, say a quarter inch (max) it will fly nicely in the wind... probably up to 10 or so mph. He said to try it out to see. I'm going to do just that.

What will they think of next?

Well, Rcdivot.. the only thing I can say is if you flew one, I think you would change your mind. They are a real blast and much more capable than they look. An excellent little plane for the money.

The interesting thing about this plane is that they actually recommend that you DON't overpower it, keep it simple and inexpensive and it will do some pretty interesting stuff.

Different strokes for different folks. You do what you want with your money and the rest of us will simply enjoy ourselves. No need to insult people, though. Perhaps once you grow up you will understand.

Bye for now, and please, don't add more to this forum unless you have something useful to contribute.
