Thinking about tower trainer, need help.

Hey, guys.

I've been flying my hobbyzone super-cup for a few months now, and I feel very comfertable with it (perfect landings and take-offs, loops, rolls, etc...)
I've been thinking about getting the tower hobbies .40 trainer. is this too big of a leap?
I've have years of glow engine tuning (cars, and trucks) how does this translate into airplane engines? also, I can fly comfertably on realflight with the nexstar .40 trainer.

Thanks for the help.

P.S. I've got the airplane bug!!!:D

This won't be too big of a leap. If you're interested in flying glow planes, the Tower Trainer is an ideal first plane.

There is an AMA chartered flying club in Steamboat Springs that can help you get started with flight training:

YAMPA VALLEY SKYSCRAPERS 4497
MARK JANSEN PO BOX 770673
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS CO 80477
Url: www.yvss-rc.com IX Yes

Good shopping, and good luck!

I'm almost done building mine from a kit.. very easy build.. got it on Tower hobbies after the coupon for only 39 bucks. Minus wheels and tank.

Yea i do Plane engines are 10000000000000000000000000000000x easier to tune then cars trust me takes 20 secs TOPS tot une an airplane engine 20 min. to tune a car and with break in i think just 1 or 2 tanks is needed jsut leave it on the ground and run it through a tank or 2 at half throttle not completly sure though cause my dad breaks mine in.

Ok, guys. I bit the bullet and empted my wallet.

here's what I orded.

1. tower hobbies .46 trainer RTF
2. 4 quarts of 10% glow fuel
3. hobbyco fuel filter
4. extra prop
5. a few extra glow plugs
6. hobbyco chicken stick

I already have things like glow starter, wrenches, and misc. tools from my car and truck backround.

I'm very excited, I feel like a yound kid waiting for the ice cream truck to arrive on a blistering hot day:D

For the first few starts, borrow an electric starter from your instructor or other club member. The stick won't cut it on a new tight engine until it's broken in and becomes looser. Happy to see another new excited pilot. Welcome.

Congrats, squeaky penguin! You're going to have more fun than you can imagine. My face muscles still ache from smiling and I solo'd back in '05. :D
