Low Wing instructor?
When Im ready to move to a low wing plane, do I need an instructor to help me with it? I know... Its such a stupid Q... :stupid:
|
Low Wing instructor?
that depends on you.. and the type of low wing plane
But since you asked I'd say it wouldn't hurt to have a more experienced flyer maiden it an trim it out then maybe a flight or two with them nearby or on a buddy box.. Then agian if you have mastered your trainer and are Confident in your skill you might be fine... all you have to lose is the plane!!! Not much of an answer was it!!! BTW it wasn't a stupid question... If you feel you need the help ask... |
Low Wing instructor?
It is a little different than high wing planes, so, have someone take it up and trim it out then take the controlls with them nearby and try it out up high, then make a few approches.
If you have a fair amount of flying time in, you should be ok. |
Low Wing instructor?
OK
Thanks :) |
YES, WHAT CRASHEM SAID
By the time your ready for a low wing, you'll be more comfy with the guys and or instructor your flying with. I can fly my planes but wouldn't maiden one without my instructor (flying buddy) Dave having a go with it first. Maybe after this (my second) flying season I'll have the experience and confidence to maiden a diff style plane than I'm used to flying on my own/

When I made the transition I had a guy with me twice.....the first time he was hooked with a buddy cord....the second he just stood by me......I didn't need him to take the plane at all, but it was nice to have him there just in case.....it calmed the nerves a bit!

Yes, it is better to get someone to trim it out for you. I just did a maiden on my 4*60(first low wing) and It was all over until I had it trimed. About 2 minutes after it was trimed and flying good, the screws vribrated out of the muffler(forgot to tighten them   ) and I had to do a dead-stick. I was surprised at how well the 4* glided...

And no, it didn't crash. I recommend the plane because If you can fly a trainer you can fly the 4*
