Primer Other Than Lustrokote

IS THE AUTOMOTIVE PRIMER A SUITABLE PRIMER FOR BODY FINISHING, I AM CURRENTLY USING THE LUSTROKOTE PRIMER, AT 7 BUCKS A POP IT IS POCKET DRAINING, SO I THOUGHT ABOUT USING THE AUTO PRIMER, MY PLANE IS EPOXY/ FIBERGLASSED LAMINATED, CAN SOME ONE TELL ME IF THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE TO LUSTROKOTE AND ALSO WHAT DO YOU OR WHAT CAN YOU DO ABOUT ALL THOSE BUBBLES CAUSED BY LUSTROKOTE, I TRY TO SPRAY ON AS LIGHTLY AS POSSIBLE ON EACH COATING BUT CANNOT AVOID THOSE BUBBLES, HELP ME PLEASE EXPERTS

Ditch the LustreKote all together.

I have decided after a bad run in with LustreKote to never use it again.

I now go to an automotive paint supplier and get spray cans matched perfectly with my covering. Those are pricy but way worth the cost. The primer is 4 bucks a can though. In the end it evens out. That and it is auto paint. I don't get a lot of fuel on my planes so I am not that concerned with fuel resistance, but the clear coat I use is automotive and resists fuel well.

I am pretty sure that the auto primer and Lustrekote are not compatible though.

I just finished my 35% Pilot for my Extra this way. Check it out.

Hope this helps.

Primer Other Than Lustrokote

Chevron (aka Perfect) has a primer you can get from places like Tower.
