radio/battery problem?
 

Hi, Can someone tell me how i can put my servos on thier own battery pack. I'm getting radio glitches from time to time. This is my 1st. plane with all digital servos. I think they are interfering with my reciever. What i got is futaba radio equipment, hitech digital servos. 6 volt battery. Any help would be great. Thanks. Don

Radio "glitches/interference" is caused by multiple things. Metal on metal contact (usually the throttle clevis or rod touching the engine or a metal clevis on a metal throttle arm (bad juju)) also failure to isolate the antena wire and this can be challenging to find some times. I once got glitchy performance from plane that the engine bearings were failing in due to the excessive metal scrapping going on inside the engine. I doubt it has anything to do with your digital servos.

The first thing to check is the wiring between your battery and receiver. A dirty switch, to small a gage wire, excessivily long leads or dirty contacts can cause the problems you are seeing. As a test, plug the battery directly into the receiver (bypass the switch and switch harness) and see if the problems persist. If they do, then check all the connections between the servos and the reciever by just connection one servo at a time to see if and when the problem reappears to weed out any bad connections between the receiver and servos. Of course make sure your battery is fully charged first.

Radio glitches are caused by something. Don't just try to hide them. It is better to fix them. No matter what you do with the batteries i think they will still be powering the receiver and the servos.
