Second flight!!

The guys at the field were very helpful. They trimmed out my .40 trainer and adjusted the engine several times throughout the day. He flew me on a buddy box so I got some stick time!!!! It was very, very cool. My first flight started out kinda sloppy, but after I got the hang of it it was great! I think I flew about 10 minutes 3-4 times on mine. Left turns were easy, right turns were trickier (he said something about engine torque), figure eights and I even got in a couple loops. Lot's of people started showing up. They started pushing foamies and controllers in my hand and commending me etc. T'was the most fun I've had in a while. A couple more sloppy loops and some rolls with the foamies and increasingly better landings and the day was done.

Thanks for all the help on here. I am surely hooked. I gotta get a electric foamie park flyer now. Big wing, slow flyin' and lots of control! It can't beat the glow plane though.

Monetary donations would surely help :D Anyone?

RE: Second flight!!

That sounds alot like my first flight. The first time i actually flew i remember it was amazing and then when i got my own plane it was awesome. I bet you will remember the first time you saw that plane take of for a long time. When I was learning to fly it was cool to fly other people's planes too. I was only 14 when i learned and people were amazed at how well i did. Once my instructor saw me take an interest in his scratch build electric. Next thing i new it he was flying and looking down at his radio. After fumbling with it for a while at the same time he was flying(he was dialing down the throws) he gave the controls to me. Another time it was really windy and i wasn't gonna take my plane up. I was still new at flying but he let my fly his profile. It was so windy it stood still at half throttle. While your learning to fly you will have some of the best moments of the hobby. When you land take off and finally solo it make you feels so amazing. Keep with it and go flying as often as possible. Oh the prop turns to the left and on take off it pulls the plane to the left. When you turn to the left the torque helps pull it to the left. During a right turn the torque pulls to the left be you are going right. Also make sure you learn to tune that engine soon. I did learn for along time and felt stupid asking for engine help after i soloed.

I know exactly how u feel. A few weeks back, I went to a field to see if I wanted to join. There was only one person, but he let me fly his trainer on a buddy box, since he was an instructor. It was awesome. First day I was looping and doing rolls. I went back yesterday and he was there again and remembered me. He let me fly again, and to my amazement, after a few times around, he told me to set up for a landing, but dont land, and the second time to set up and do it. I landed what seemed like perfect to me. I was so excited. (I still am too.)

Shorty , you have been blessed by the flying Gods. JK. Very nice guy, your instructor . Most instructors are this way and are a blast to hang out with.
