I seem to forget my windex and paper towel (for cleanup) more than anything else. Also a set of safty sticks is a mandatory in my mind unless there is already some at your field.

Best of luck,

Del

P.S. Don't forget the thermos of coffee.

Something else to put on your wish list. If you are going to make multiple flights I highly reccommend this.

A prop reamer might be handy.

If your first flight is hairy, a clean pair of undies is nice :D (Sorry, had to toss that in)

Haha. thats funny. I think Ill be OK. Already landed someone elses plane, so I wont have to worry about detroying someone elses now.

And heres a little poll.
How many of you use a prop reamer? I mean, do most props not fit once you get them?

Thanks

I have one, and I DO use it, but very rarely. So it's a handy item, but not a "Must Have" item

Reamers come in standard and metric, depends on what engine you run . I run APC props on a Saito and have to use a reamer to get them to fit.

Some of the things I have added since I began flying this year have included phillips and standard screwdrivers, a small adjustable wrench, needle nose pliers, and a battery tester. I have also added a field charger, but that is not an essential. I have also bought a cheap timer so I will know when it is time to land, until I get the time set in my mind.

Shortymet55,
One thing I forgot in my previous post, check the manual on the Alpha 60 for the glow plug. I have an Alpha 40 and my manual says to use a 4 cycle glow plug. I have run both 2 and 4 cycle plugs and have had better results with the 4 cycle. It won't hurt your engine.

I looked at the online manual, and it said to use either HAN3001 (which I chose) or HAN3006, which is the 2-cycle super plug. $1.50 more, but I dont know the difference.

Another thing I thought of. Should I get rubber bands or nylon bolts? Im thinking I should go with the bolted down wing instead. Thats what most people at my field use.

Great Planes Nylon Wing Bolt 1/4-20x2 (4) $1.25
