If it is just the first flight of the day, I would add to make sure all your transmitter switches are set to low rates.

Actually, this should be done by EVERY pilot before EVERY flight. You just never know when a switch will get bumped or forgotten. Make it part of EVERY pre-taxi check. A few seconds that could save YOU a lot of money and aggravation.[:@]

Bruce,
I do something similar to this with my students. I will purposely move the trims on their buddy box at the start of every day. This way they learn to trim their planes, and after a bit it becomes automatic so that they do it without thinking about it.

I took off with high rates on my bipe the other day. You know right away what you did. I check it each flight now and make sure I switch back to low rates when landing as well.
